Description

Just in is this beautiful vintage 1954 Gibson ES-175 archtop guitar. The guitar comes to us from the original owner’s wife who kept it in excellent condition. This is the cleanest ES-175 we have ever had the pleasure to have in our shop. The guitar is incredibly clean, has no breaks or cracks, and comes with a period-correct hardshell case as well as some fun case candy such as strings, polishing oil, a tuning pipe, cleaning cloths, and a case key. The guitar sounds incredible both acoustically and when plugged in. All electronics are completely untouched original and work perfectly. The pickup has an amazing tonal character perfectly suited for Jazz and unlike any I’ve ever played.

The instrument was owned and played by a professional jazz musician and has been lovingly cared for over the years. The guitar currently has an original 1950s Gibson Tunamatic Guitar Bridge and an excellent quality replacement tailpiece installed as the original was replaced by the owner at some time with a different tailpiece. The original Brazilian rosewood bridge had cracked years ago and glued back together and is included in the case. Everything on the guitar is completely original with the exception of the replacement tailpiece and Tunamatic bridge which I feel makes a tremendous improvement to the tone and playability of the instrument.
